Hannah's Dedication to Christ

Today at Malin Baptist Church with Claude Hagerty officiating we dedicated Hannah to Christ. Hannah Grace literally means "grace grace." The hymns and songs were sung about grace and Jesus' little lambs. Claude's sermon was also about God's grace and forgiveness. It was a very special morning. We were joined by family and friends in this special occasion. We appreciate those that wanted to come but couldn't and instead sent their thoughts and prayers.

Ohhh..I Have a Fly on My Nose

I have a fly on my nose and I can't figure out how to get it off!

Lunch After Hannah's Dedication

We had lunch today at our house after Hannah's dedication. Hannah's name means "grace" so Grandma Mary had a special cake made for her special day. Every one pitched in and helped make it a special day. We had a good turn out and were glad to be able to visit with our family and friends.

Four Generations on Mommy's Side (Cheyne)

Here is a picture of the four generations on Mommy's side. Great Grandma Bonnie, Grandpa Lee, Erika & Hannah.

Four Generations on Daddy's Side (Branstrom/DuVal)

Here are the four generations on Daddy's side of the family. Great Grandpa Bob, Great Grandma Doris, Grandma Bevie, Uncle Jared, Wyatt, and Hannah. Hannah and Wyatt got to spend some time together for the first time. They don't get to see each other very often and we were glad they could come up for a visit. Where was Ben? Out working hard to keep food on our table. We are proud of him and all of his hard work. We appreciated that he could spend a little time with us today at lunch but are sure he didn't mind not getting his picture taken!

Little Cowgirl in a Ten Gallon Hat

Ok...maybe not ten gallons but it's a bit big for her head. Uncle Jared, Aunt Ivy, and Wyatt got her this cute little hat and we couldn't resist taking a picture of her in it. It fits on her head but doesn't really fit. Looks like Hannah's ready to ride!

I guess this should have been part of my original comments. Here's what my Mom said in one of the comments. "There's a little more to the cowgirl story than Erika is fessin' up to or maybe she just didn't want to bore people. I went down Friday to help her clean house (for Sunday's bash) and we got to talkin' about how neither of us played with dolls much as little girls. She preferred playing with tractors and I went around with six-shooters strapped on each hip. Well, somewhere right smack dab in the middle of all of our spittin' and shinin' we decided to take care of some unfinished childhood business and play "dress-up baby doll" (the cleaning could wait) but all we had to play with was Hannah. First we put the cow girl hat on her - that was cute - and I took a few pictures of her. Then we decided to see if she had a pair of overalls that would fit. Erika looked through Hannah's great big closet of teeny tiny clothes and found a pair. Of course we had to drag the saddle out and ... (the waving hand to you all was Hannah's idea) I wanted to keep going and paint her toenails but after briefly considering, Erika decided she was not willing to paint that toxin on Hannah's toenails even though I assured her it would be only long enough to take a picture and then we would take it off. (Besides, the house wasn't cleaning itself while we were off playing.) Now you know the rest of the story! "

Gator Baby

Hannah was all decked out as a little farm girl hanging out in the John Deere Gator. It won't be too long before this becomes her favorite ride and kicks Daddy out of the driver's seat.

3 Months Old Today!

Hannah is 3 months old today. The time is already going by fast! Daddy has been working hard lately and we decided to visit him in the field. Hannah got to hang out for the first time in the hay squeeze. I'm sure Daddy will be training her to run it soon! She's talking up a storm. She talked all the way to the field. Too bad I can't figure out what she's saying!

Great Hunter

It looks like we have a great hunter on her hands! Hannah is ready to go deer hunting this fall. Ooops...I guess we should have put in for a tag! Hopefully we will get back to our family hunting trips when Hannah is bigger. It seems as farming has gotten busier we just haven't had the time.

BBQ @ Great Uncle Greg's

Last night we attended a BBQ at Great Uncle Greg's house. Hannah was able to meet some family and friends that hadn't seen her yet. She seemed to really enjoy herself laying on her blanket trying to talk and watching the sun flicker in the leaves. She even met her first kitty cat. Daddy was taking some time after dinner to get Hannah a jump start on walking.

Pictures Outside

Here are some recent pictures of Hannah. She was sleeping so peacefully in my arms and thought that maybe I could get some good pictures. Sure enough she woke up when I put her down. We had fun with it anyway!

First Swim

Knowing that Hannah loves her baths I though she might enjoy swimming...as much as a 2 1/2 month old can. Here she is her first few times in her little pool at home. The pictures aren't great since I was trying to hold her and the camera but I think you can get the idea. She also doesn't look super happy in the pictures but she really does enjoy it!

Second Month

Hannah loves bath time! I think it she reminisces about being in Mommy's tummy. Nevertheless it seems to help get her in the mood to go to sleep. Not to mention it's almost a necessity when we are changing our wheel lines be cause I inevitably get her dirty.

We definitely have a morning person on our hands which is nice for those early morning irrigations. She was happily starting our mornings a 5:00 or 5:30. Being the morning person that I am wouldn't normally have minded but several middle of the night feedings took all of the fun out of getting up early. As much as Hannah likes mornings...evenings can sometimes be rough. Note the unhappy night time face below. She is so interested in taking in her surroundings that she won't stop to sleep. Her shirt says "made you smile" but I don't think she's having anything to do with smiling!

This month Hannah learned to hold her head up and roll over. We are supposed to do "tummy time" but that's kind of hard when she doesn't like to be there and rolls herself over. I think she will be on the move before too long!

First Month

Here are some pictures documenting the first month of Hannah's life.
